Watch Out: Meet Michaelyn Scott!
Basketball can be a great teacher in life, it really can show a lot of a person. Things happen in life and some people use basketball to get them away from negativity around the inner city of Los Angeles. The negative activities that happen around here can easily drag you down and not let you achieve your goals.
Meet Michaelyn Scott from South Central of Los Angeles, California. Usually when you are as good as Scott is in basketball you would probably hear the person talking on the court. Not with him, Michaelyn is one of the most humble people you can ever meet. He was an 2 time MVP of his high school conference at Washington Prep high school, and an all-city first team performer. You wouldn't know it though....he doesn't go around bragging about the accomplishments that he has.
From there he went to Antelope Valley College and he led AVC to a 20-9 record and he also produced averaging 12.7 points and 4.7 assists a game earning California All-State honors. He signed a scholarship to play for Idaho University at the end of the 2012-2013 season. At Idaho he started 45 out of 64 games including 29 out of 30 games his senior year. During that senior he averaged 14.0 points a game and 5.3 assists per game respectively. He led the Big Sky in assist to turnover ratio and he was 5th in the whole nation in that category showing everyone that can take care of the as a Division 1 point guard. He also made the Big Sky All 2nd Team during this fabulous season.
After his college career ending he started his pro career playing in Lithuania. After that he signed to a team in Croatia his second year and the team that got second in the league that year signed him to help bolster their team to try to get a championship. He won a league championship in his second year overseas and was very proud of it.
"Geezy" as his close friends refer to him has a real smooth game. His quick first step can get you off balance to shoot his patented mid range jumper. People around the city rave about how mid-range jumper and how when you know it's coming. The range doesn't stop there at all, he can shoot three's also, his range goes further than the NBA three point line. The only left to see is how good can Scott actually be. The potential for his game to improve in sky high.
Listen if you're in the gym and Michaelyn Scott is in the gym don't look away too long you might miss a very quick one dribble pull up jumper that hits all net.
