Anthony Davis THE MAN.
This NBA season has been full of incredible story lines, but one story seems to being overshadowed a little too much. Anthony Davis is a superstar basketball player. People are seeming to overlook that saying he's just a star because he hasn't won any playoff games, or they say he hasn't won any awards and things like that. The playoff wins are a bad point to me, to win a playoff series win the team he has currently constructed is comparable to the teams that Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson and Lebron James carried respectively. Those teams needed real life superstars to make it to the playoffs. Anthony Davis to be is not getting a fair shake to me in terms of being a superstar. He's has been dealt a bad hand overall. He has played on bad teams his whole career. The only thing I can hold against him is that he gets injured a lot. He has missed a lot of a games with a lot of injuries over his career.
The New Orleans Pelicans went out and got DeMarcus Cousins last year at the trade deadline and it didn't seem liked it was not going to work. Last season they missed the playoffs after the trade and people started doubting saying that two dominant big men can't win in today's NBA. I don't believe this statement to be true. These 2 really good big men really don't have a team around them. After Jrue Holiday who is a good player the Pelicans don't have too much talent around them and they are forced to carry a sub par talented team very far in the tough western conference. This is the thing, just as the Pelicans started to get going and the team started to play good what happens? Cousins tears his Achilles and that basically ends their chances of really doing damage in the playoffs. You would expect the team to drop in the standings right? Well superstar Anthony Davis wasn't having none of it. In the moth of February he is averaging 35.9 points, almost 13 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks on 50 percent from the field and 34 percent from 3! That's a crazy stat line from a player that's not a superstar isn't it? Non superstars don't average 35 and 13 for a month of basketball.
This just proves that Anthony Davis IS a superstar. You can't blame somebody for not winning playoff games when they haven't had a good team around them for basically their whole career. He's not the general manager, he's not in charge of the talent that the Pelicans have given him during his tenure. He's giving New Orleans every thing he has to make sure they make the playoffs.
Anthony Davis is one human being, remember that. GET HIM SOME HELP.
